As a librarian, my job is to make information accessible and to empower my community to use that information effectively and responsibly. As a research and instruction librarian at Barnard College, my instructional sessions ranged from teaching discipline specific research methods to preparing students for course-specific assignments, or the first time they write a research paper in First-Year English. I lead peer-to-peer and public workshops on open access publishing and writing for Wikipedia, among other topics. All of my sessions put critical, feminist pedagogical theories into practice.
